About Lauren Krieger

Once upon a time (or is that too cliché of a start?), Lauren Krieger grew up in the frozen magical wonderland that is Minnesota (Edina, MN specifically, iykyk). She was that kid who was always drawing, first on the sides of homework and notebooks until at age 12 on Valentine’s Day her parents gifted her a sketchbook which truly kickstarted her artistic journey. This journey eventually took her to UCLA’s MFA Animation Workshop where she graduated from in 2015.
Today, Lauren lives in Burbank, CA with 10+ yrs studio experience as a storyboard artist/revisionist on shows such as Dreamworks TV “Dragons: The Nine Realms”, Disney Jr’s “Kindergarten the Musical” and Nick Jr’s “Shimmer and Shine”. In addition, Lauren freelances as a layout and 2nd keyframe animator and has worked on projects such as Digimon Ghost Game (omg a dream), One Piece, Sailor Moon Crystal and Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim.
Lauren is currently teaching at CalState Northridge (CSUN) as an adjunct animation professor. Her favorite class to teach is Animation II where students are making their first animated films. She also teachers Animation Pre-Production and Comparative Anatomy Drawing.
The future? So many options, but currently Lauren is working on a preschool animated short with a small group from her Women In Animation Preschool Development Mentorship Circle with Sarah Wallendjack (PBS Kids). She absolutely will be sharing more about this as it develops, but the team is hoping for the short to be done around August 2026.
Lauren absolutely thrives on creative collaboration, believing that “we do our best work when we’re together”.
